Charles River has been conducting toxicology studies for more than 40 years and offers the complete range of studies required for worldwide registration.
Having experience with all the mammalian species used for toxicology testing, we can perform the full spectrum of studies ranging from single-dose acute (including oral, dermal, irritation and sensitization tests) to short-term and long-term (including carcinogenicity) studies as appropriate. All routine routes of administration are available, as well as specialized routes (e.g., inhalation).
As a consequence of scientific progress and animal welfare considerations, alternatives to the traditional oral LD50 test, such as the Fixed Dose Procedure and Acute Toxic Class Method, are conducted. In addition, in vitro alternatives to dermal irritation and corrosivity as well as ocular irritation studies are available.
The full range of reproductive and developmental toxicity studies required for product registration are available as well as fully validated OPPTS immunotoxicity studies in rodents.
