copy number determination
|
Fully defining your genetically engineered models is an important part of research. Through the use of quantitative PCR (QPCR), we can assist you with the characterization process by determining transgene copy number. Transgenes typically insert randomly in the genome in multiple tandem copies at a single site, but the site of insertion and number of copies varies in each founder line. Since the number of transgene copies may affect expression of the transgene, determining relative copy numbers for different founders can help in characterizing the transgenic model.
To further characterize your model, Charles River also offers a full-service pathology laboratory. The services offered by this lab can provide you with additional data about your valuable genetically engineered model.
