zygosity testing

Transgene-Specific Testing

This Quantitative PCR (QPCR) assay allows determination of two-fold difference in copy number between hemizygote and homozygote transgenic rodents. In-house zygosity assay development is rigorously optimized and validated.

Our PhD-level staff provides a complete custom assay development service. You need only provide the DNA sequence and controls. Primer and probe design and synthesis, determination of assay conditions, and assay troubleshooting are all included in the development fee. Once an assay has been developed, it remains in our document control system. Samples requiring the assay may be submitted at any time, even years later, for only the per-sample cost.

Common-Element Testing

Many vectors designed for transgenic models use well-characterized elements, such as selectable markers and reporter genes. Validated QPCR assays for several common elements, including neomycin, luciferase, GFP, LacZ, and Cre recombinase, are available in our genetic testing portfolio. Since no new assay development is required for this service, turnaround time is rapid and only a per-sample fee is charged.
