Edinburgh Preclinical Facility Accredited by AAALAC

Our Preclinical Services (PCS) facility in Edinburgh was awarded full accreditation by the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International. The accreditation also includes our nearby farm animal facility.

A number of areas were highlighted and specially praised in the AAALAC accreditation letter, including our:

• Open, collaborative and friendly staff

• High level of housekeeping

• Comprehensive environmental enrichment programs

• Innovative housing

Preclinical studies that can be conducted at our Edinburgh facility range from acute through to carcinogenicity and include all major regulatory species and all routes of administration.

In addition to supporting early-phase candidate screening, we also perform laboratory services, such as metabolism and pharmacokinetics, bioanalytical support and in vitro sciences.
