The DTCC Consortium: Creating and Phenotyping Knockout Mouse Mutants
May 01 2012
Funded by the NIH as part of the second phase of the Knockout Mouse Project (KOMP2), the DTCC Consortium is creating a repository of knockout mouse lines and phenotype data as part of an international effort to help researchers develop better models of human disease. The University of California, Davis (UC Davis), Toronto Centre for Phenogenomics (TCP), Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI) and Charles River have come together to form the DTCC Consortium. In addition to the DTCC Consortium, the other KOMP2 participants include The Jackson Laboratory as well as the collaboration of Baylor College of Medicine, the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and the Medical Research Council (MRC) Harwell.
Strengthen Your Research with the DTCC Consortium
The DTCC Consortium is committed to providing the models and tools needed to further your research goals beyond the KOMP2 initiative. In collaboration with your internal scientific development team, the DTCC Consortium can provide additional breadth and depth to your model analysis to determine the suitability of a model or target to meet your specific research needs in multiple therapeutic areas.
The DTCC Consortium offers access to the phenotyping platform used on the mutant mouse models as well as additional specialized phenotyping platforms at our facilities, including:
-
Comprehensive gross necropsy and histopathology
-
Additional behavioral testing, including learning and memory
-
Multimodality imaging of adult animals
-
Metabolic phenotyping
The DTCC can also assist in accessing models developed at the other International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium (IMPC) centers whose primary phenotyping results reveal phenotypes of interest to your scientific development team. In addition, our frozen and fixed tissue bank is available for collaborative and follow-up evaluation.
