Refinement in Dual Catheterization Surgical Procedure
Sep 02 2013
One of our core corporate values is our commitment to the humane care and ethical treatment of research animals produced and used in all Charles River activities. As such, we continually review and refine our surgical procedures with animal welfare in mind. Recently, we made changes to our standard dual catheterization surgical procedure so that both catheters exit a single midline incision. By using one exit point, we will reduce any unnecessary trauma to the model.
Moving forward, all animal models that have been surgically modified with dual catheters will be delivered with a single midline incision. The surgery paperwork that accompanies each order will provide additional information on how to distinguish between the catheters.
