Short Course: Veterinarian Scholarship

Thinking of a career change? The Charles River Laboratories Foundation is proud to sponsor four scholarships to the 22nd Annual Charles River Short Course on June 16-19, 2008 at the Marriott Hotel in Newton, MA.

This popular educational opportunity fills up fast and often has a waiting list for openings. Fortunately, four spots have been saved for veterinarians interested in learning more about the exciting and challenging field of laboratory animal science and medicine.

Topics include: the biology and care of common laboratory animals; anesthesia and analgesia; genetics and phenotyping; various aspects of animal facility management; and MORE. This year also includes a day on Practical Animal Behavior. The Short Course has been approved for CE credits.

The scholarship includes registration for the full four days of the Short Course and many meals. Winners will be responsible for travel and lodging. To apply, simply send a letter with a brief description of your professional experience and current position. Also include, in 2 pages or less, why you would like to attend the Short Course. Applicants should not be currently involved in the field of laboratory animal medicine.
