Short Course - Student Veterinarian Scholarship

Charles River Laboratories Foundation is proud to sponsor seven scholarships to the 22nd Annual Charles River Short Course on Laboratory Animals on June 16-19, 2008 at the Marriott Hotel in Newton, MA.

This popular educational opportunity fills up fast and often has a waiting list for openings. Fortunately, six spots have been saved for veterinary students. The Short Course provides a unique opportunity to be exposed to various aspects of laboratory animal science and a great opportunity to meet other people to exchange information.

Topics include: the biology and care of common laboratory animals; anesthesia and analgesia; genetics and phenotyping; various aspects of animal facility management; and MORE. This year also includes a day on Practical Animal Behavior.

The scholarships include registration, five nights lodging at the Short Course hotel, most meals, and up to $500 for travel expenses. Junior veterinary students are eligible to apply. Applications should include two letters of reference from faculty of the applicant’s school of veterinary medicine and a one-page essay outlining why you would like to attend the Short Course.
