CHECK OUT THE FIELD OF LABORATORY ANIMAL MEDICINE
Veterinary Students Scholarship for the Charles River Short Course
2010 Charles River Short Course
June 21-24, 2010
Marriott Boston Newton Hotel • Newton, MA
The Charles River CHARTER Program (Commitment to Humane Animal Research Through Excellence and Responsibility) is proud to sponsor a limited number of scholarships for the annual Charles River Short Course. This popular educational opportunity fills up fast and often has a waiting list for openings; however, each year we save a few spots for veterinary students.
Topics include the biology and care of common laboratory and farm animals used in research, ethical decision-making in animal research, and genetics and phenotyping. This year’s Short Course also includes a day on practical animal behavior. The 2010 Short Course has been approved for CE credit.
The scholarships include registration, five nights of lodging at the Short Course hotel, most meals, and up to $500 for travel expenses. Junior veterinary students are eligible to apply. Applications should include two references from faculty of the applicant’s school of veterinary medicine and a one-page essay outlining why you would like to attend the Short Course.
