Charles River Selects LSG Corporation, Tokyo, to Market Biopharmaceutical Services in Japan
January 19, 2009 – Charles River is pleased to announce that it has entered into a marketing agreement with LSG Corporation, Tokyo, Japan. Through the agreement, LSG will market within Japan the worldwide services offered by Charles River Biopharmaceutical Services (BPS) in the United States, Ireland, Scotland, and Germany through Charles River’s recent acquisition of NewLab BioQuality AG. Prior to the NewLab acquisition, services from Charles River BPS had been marketed in Japan through Charles River Japan (CRJ).
Charles River BPS is a world leader in biopharmaceuticals testing, process validation, cell bank (microbial, mammalian, stem cell) manufacturing, and vaccine development and manufacturing. The five BPS sites are operated according FDA, EMEA, and/or ICH guidelines, depending upon the facility and site offerings. Charles River BPS works with biopharmaceutical clients on a global basis across a full range of services, from the initial R&D stage through product commercialization (lot release testing).
LSG Corporation has over fifteen years of experience in promoting BPS-type services and other contract research services in Japan. This marketing agreement will support the consolidation of Charles River’s BPS sales and marketing activities and ultimately is expected to further grow Charles River BPS business in Japan. In addition, LSG will provide a single point of contact for all current and new Japanese BPS clients.
LSG, CRJ, and Charles River BPS will be working closely together during this transition period in order to ensure that Charles River clients are not adversely impacted and that quality and timelines are maintained.
