Now Using iPrecio® for Safety Assessments with Low Infusion Rates
March 7, 2012 - In a GLP-compliant setting, administering low drug volumes in safety assessments requires a reliable and reproducible micro-infusion delivery system. For studies with nonstandard routes of administration (e.g., intracerebral, intrathecal or subcutaneous), low infusion rates are generally required.
Charles River can now use the iPrecio® pump in a regulated environment for studies that require very low infusion rates.
Features of this micro-infusion delivery system include:
- Low infusion rate of 1 to 30 µL/hr
- Accurate and reproducible volume delivery
- Subcutaneous implantation
- Refillable pump reservoir, which reduces animal stress
- Flexible programming, which allows for different vehicle or alternate solution rates postoperatively
- Programming of dosing cycle and/or washout period between formulations tested for combination schemes
