Charles River has been conducting toxicology studies for almost 40 years and offers the complete range of studies required for international animal health product registration. Having experience with all the mammalian species used for toxicology testing, we perform studies ranging from single dose acute (including oral, dermal, irritation, and sensitization tests) to short- and long-term (including carcinogenicity) studies. All routine routes of administration are available, as well as various specialized routes (e.g., inhalation and infusion).
Genetic toxicology studies are conducted in a tiered approach designed to assess the toxicological relevance of any earlier observations. Tests offered include the in vitro Ames test, chromosomal aberrations assay, mouse lymphoma assays, and the in vivo rodent micronucleus assay.
We also offer the full range of reproductive and developmental toxicity studies required for animal health product registration.
