Positron Emission Computed Tomography (PET)
|
Positron emission computed tomography (PET) offers clinical several applications in the study of the central nervous system and oncology. PET is an excellent tool for in vivo imaging of sugar consumption (FDG imaging).
PET allows for the analysis of brain activity in a variety of conditions. It also is increasingly used for monitoring increased metabolism in tumor cells.

Consumption of FDG at different parts of brain. PET imaging can be performed together with CT.
