Inflammation Models | Charles River Discovery Research Services

Thioglycollate-Induced Peritonitis (TIP) Model

The accumulation of specific cell types at a site of injury is a characteristic of the inflammatory response. Charles River offers models to assess the recruitment of inflammatory cells to the site of sterile inflammation. Thioglycollate peritonitis permits the evaluation of cellular recruitment into the peritoneal cavity, while our sponge granuloma model captures infiltrating cells and their secreted products in subcutaneously implanted sterile PVA sponges. In each model, the composition of the elicited population is evaluated by flow cytometry.
