Primary cultures offer fast access to study molecules of interest directly in relevant cell types. Primary cultures are real cells present in tissue instead of immortalized cell lines, and are good tools for lead molecule identification (efficacy and toxicity screening). Data is available within few weeks from study initiation.
Model for In vitro Cytotoxicity
- Client compounds in glial cultures or mixed cortical cultures
In vitro cytotoxicity can be studied in glial cultures or in mixed cultures comprised of both neuronal and glial cells. Validated end points make possible both cell death and cell viability assays and further analysis of cells by immunocytochemistry or ELISA.
Cortical Glial Cultures

Mixed Cortical Cultures
