Our state-of-the-art facilities include four image analysis systems capable of measuring all of the standard and user-defined static and dynamic (with fluorochrome labels) measurements for bone. Each system is operated by highly trained technical staff supervised by ACVP, RCPath, and ECVP board-certified pathologists, Results are reported in accordance with the nomenclature set forth by the ASBMR and our procedures have been validated for GLP compliance.
Our histomorphometric expertise also extends to characterize changes in other organ systems, including:
-
Small intestine villus length, crypt depth and villus/crypt ratios
-
Immunohistochemically stained liver, lung and stomach cells
-
Diameter of stented blood vessels
-
Extent of infarcts in the heart
-
Capillary angiogenesis in cutaneous wound defects
-
Lung alveolar wall volume
-
Goblet cell number in the respiratory tract
-
Adult and juvenile rat cerebellar and cerebral measurements
-
Axon and nerve fiber changes in peripheral nerves
-
Related services such as medical device pathology
-
Skeletal muscle characterization
We offer a full complement of Bone Research services, including animal models of osteoporosis and arthritis, biomarkers, bone densitometry, biomechanical strength testing and bone cell culture assays.
