Animal Models of Disease | Charles River

disease models: diet information

In certain cases, the disease phenotype is expressed or enhanced when the animal is fed a specific diet. The chart below lists specific diets for enhancing or expressing the desired disease conditions in certain animal models.

With our preconditioning services, you can purchase your animals ready to use and save valuable laboratory space for your actual study. During the preconditioning period, various phenotypic parameters can be measured and recorded on an “as needed” basis. In addition, surgical manipulations can be performed on the animals as part of the preconditioning process.
