THINKING OF A CAREER CHANGE?
Veterinarian Scholarship for the Annual Charles River Short Course
2012 Charles River Short Course
June 18-21, 2012
Marriott Boston Newton Hotel • Newton, MA
The Charles River CHARTER Program (Commitment to Humane Animal Research Through Excellence and Responsibility) is proud to sponsor a limited number of scholarships for the annual Charles River Short Course. This popular educational opportunity fills up fast and often has a waiting list for openings; however, each year we save a few spots for veterinarians who are not currently active in laboratory animal medicine but who are interested in learning more about the exciting and challenging field of laboratory animal science and medicine.
Topics include the biology and care of common laboratory animals used in research, personal protection equipment and practices, animal welfare, and genetics and imaging. This year’s Short Course also includes a day on practical animal behavior. The 2012 Short Course has been approved for CE credit.
The scholarships include registration for the full four days of the Short Course and most meals. Winners will be responsible for travel and lodging.
Applications are available here.
To apply, simply send a letter with a brief description of your professional experience and current position, as well as a short summary (two pages or less) of why you would like to attend the Short Course. Applicants should not be currently involved in the field of laboratory animal medicine.
Applications should be sent to:
Dr. Marilyn Brown, Vice President, Charles River CHARTER Program
251 Ballardvale Street, Wilmington, MA 01887 • marilyn.brown@crl.com
Applications must be received by April 2, 2012.
Winners will be notified no later than May 2, 2012.
