WILMINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 2008--Charles River Laboratories International, Inc. (NYSE: CRL) today reported its results for the third quarter and first nine months of 2008. For the quarter, net sales increased 9.0% to $342.2 million from $314.0 million in the third quarter of 2007. The Research Models and Services (RMS) segment reported very strong sales growth, partially offset by slower growth in the Preclinical Services (PCS) segment. Foreign exchange contributed 1.5% to the net sales growth.
