Access New and Updated Clinical Pathology Data for Common Research Models
June 1, 2012 -Clinical pathology data, such as hematology and clinical chemistry, can not only assist researchers in selecting the most appropriate model for their study, but it can also provide important information on the physiology and health of research animals. For example, clinical pathology is one of the basic parameters that is assessed in the majority of toxicological studies. Changes in hematology and clinical chemistry may indicate organ system damage in animals that have been exposed to a test article. Similarly, changes in hematology parameters may be suggestive of certain disease processes. To accurately assess biochemical changes within an in vivo model, background data must be determined.
