August 12, 2011 - Corynebacterium bovis is a small, Gram-positive, club-shaped bacterium. Sporadically found in research and testing facilities, this persistent pathogen primarily infects nude and SCID mice causing thickened flaky skin, often called scaly skin disease. In this webinar, we review the epidemiology and biology of C. bovis, consequences of an outbreak (e.g., clinical disease and impact on research), methods of diagnosis and how to control the infection.
