Charles River Harmonizes Clinical Sample Kits for Europe and North America

August 6, 2010 - Biological samples are an integral part of successful clinical studies. These samples provide important data on toxicity, pharmacokinetics, efficacy and the market potential of a new drug. Since the amount of each biological sample is often limited and many months of planning and activities must occur before collection is possible, the preparation and shipment of clinical samples are pivotal parts of the process. To support your clinical programs, Charles River offers customizable clinical sample kits to meet your biological sample requirements. Our kits are specifically designed to facilitate the collection, storage and shipment of clinical samples in a smooth, efficient and timely manner.

Charles River is pleased to announce that we have recently harmonized our capabilities for clinical sample kits and materials preparation at both our Montreal and Edinburgh sites to more efficiently serve the North American and European markets and beyond. This alignment means even more convenience, availability and flexibility for your clinical program schedule and needs.

Our clinical sample kits can be adapted to the full range of customer needs and are specifically designed to allow storage and shipping of different matrices such as plasma, urine, serum and whole-blood. Typical kits include:

  • Collection tubes, vacutainers and storage tubes for each matrix type
  • Storage containers to hold the storage tubes during transit
  • Tube labels for specimen identification for each specific subject
  • Lab manual detailing specimen identification, sample processing and matrix collection methods
  • All necessary labels, instructions, waybills and permits for expedited shipping across borders

Charles River is proud to put over 40 years of sample management experience at your service to support your clinical trials, and we are pleased to be able to do so in an even more convenient manner with the harmonization of our Montreal and Edinburgh sites.
