Immortomouse® and XID Mutation Genotyping from Charles River Genetic Testing Services
March 23, 2009 - Charles River Genetic Testing Services is now offering zygosity testing for the transgenic Immortomouse® line that is available from Charles River. The Immortomouse® contains a single insertion of the SV40 large T antigen, tsA58, transgene under the control of an interferon-inducible promoter on chromosome 16. Our pre-validated PCR assay can distinguish between wild-type, hemizygous, and homozygous animals, which allows for more efficient breeding to produce animals of the desired genotype.
Charles River Genetic Testing Services has also recently developed a genotyping assay for the X-linked immune defect mutation of the Bruton’s tyrosine kinase gene (Btkxid). This spontaneous point mutation, which affects the maturation of T-independent B lymphocytes, originated in the CBA/HN strain and is also present in the NIH-III nude mouse strain that is available from Charles River. Our assay can determine if animals are wild-type, heterozygous, or homozygous for the point mutation, which can help our customers manage their colonies more effectively.
In addition to our new assays, we continue to offer a variety of other pre-validated and custom genotyping assays. Please contact us at 1.877.CRIVER.1 (1.877.274.8371) or askcharlesriver@crl.com for more information, including pricing.
