Enhancements to Charles River Website
August 4, 2011 - Webster’s Dictionary defines “enhancement” as follows: “To make greater, as in value, beauty, or effectiveness.” Our new homepage is the picture of enhancement.
Why the makeover? First and foremost: anything that’s worth doing is worth doing right. We knew there were areas which needed improvement, so we made them. Most importantly though, you had many insights and suggestions about our site, and we heard loud and clear.
- Access: You needed untrammeled access to our global portfolio of products and services (sorry, we put the dictionary away, so you’ll have to look ‘untrammeled’ up on your own). So, what did we do? Simply put: we made it easier to find things. We streamlined the homepage to scroll through research models and services, preclinical services, discovery services, biopharmaceutical services as well as the endotoxin and microbial detection section. With an engaging visual layout and cool images it’s not just a “search for services” anymore, it’s an experience. The new homepage also presents news & events, as well as our vast portfolio in an intuitive and highly organized way.
- Quick Links: You also needed links for immediate access to resources such as The Source℠, health reports, quote and submission forms, new research models and more. The new, prominently placed quick links section jumps to these “most viewed” areas and features that which is most critical to supporting to your research.
In all, our new homepage is built for speed, AND for comfort (we know, it’s usually one or the other, but it’s true). With the new homepage you will have rapid access to all of Charles River’s technical expertise, resources and information. Our webpage doesn’t just look better, it functions better, and we’re proud to roll it out. We invite you to explore. myVIEW™ - All your Reporting Systems, All in One Place
In addition to a new and improved homepage, we’ve added a new section to our website. Introducing: myView™. While you’ll be hearing a lot more about this online management tool in the future, here are the basics:
- With so many ongoing projects at Charles River we learned you really needed one central location for all of your reporting systems, those being, preclinical services, discovery services, and ILIMS for research animal diagnostics.
myVIEW™ is an online management tool –an aggregator of sorts–which consolidates all of these systems. Now you will have a central location to manage ongoing projects, track study progress and view data. Did we mention The Source℠ is there too? With access to your secure information, study data, reports, protocols and scheduling, myVIEW™ is your one-stop shop for anything and everything Charles River. This new feature will appear in the bottom left-hand corner of the homepage.

With thoughtful consideration to your concerns, we made these enhancements with you in mind. And with the new look and feel of the homepage, as well as the addition of myVIEW™, the Charles River website has definitely gone from good to great.
