Charles River has been conducting toxicology studies for more than 40 years and offers the complete range of studies required for worldwide registration.
Having extensive experience with all the mammalian species used for toxicology testing, we can perform the full spectrum of studies ranging from single-dose acute (including oral, dermal, irritation and sensitization tests) to short-term and long-term (including carcinogenicity) studies as appropriate. In addition, the full range of reproductive and developmental toxicity studies required for product registration are available.
Charles River offers all routine routes of administration, with a particular expertise in specialized routes such as inhalation.
As a consequence of scientific progress and animal welfare considerations, alternatives to the traditional oral LD50 test, such as the Fixed Dose Procedure and Acute Toxic Class Method, are conducted. In addition, in vitro alternatives to dermal irritation and corrosivity as well as ocular irritation studies are available.
We offer a range of genetic toxicology studies, including the in vitro Ames test, chromosomal aberrations assay, mouse lymphoma assays, the in vivo rodent micronucleus assay, Comet assay and in vitro mouse micronucleus assay.
