We know that animal health is extremely important to you. Proactive monitoring of your colonies and facility is the best way to ensure that a health issue does not compromise the results of your research. Charles River Research Animal Diagnostic Services delivers sensitive and specific testing to help you manage risk and avoid surprises. Our diagnostic laboratories are located at the Charles River Corporate Headquarters in Wilmington, Massachusetts, in San Diego, California (the West Coast Laboratory), and in Lyon, France.

Health concerns vary greatly with facility size and research type. To assist you with your health surveillance program design, we provide one-on-one consultation with our professional and technical staff to optimize your program. With over 60 years of experience screening animal colonies, we offer expertise in assay development and results you can have confidence in. To receive a cost estimate on your health surveillance program, please complete our Diagnostic Services Quote Form. To learn how a microbial contamination may affect your facility and your research, see our Infectious Agent Technical Sheets.

We support multiple services within the Charles River portfolio. In addition to maintaining the health integrity of Charles River Research Models, we also provide health testing support for our Genetically Engineered Models and Services (GEMS) group.
