New JoVE Video on the MFIA Serologic Test Method
February 21, 2012 - While infections in immunocompetent animals are usually transient, antibody responses can often be detected within days to weeks and persist throughout the life of the host. As a result, laboratory animals are often monitored via serologic diagnostic methodologies.
The Multiplexed Fluorometric ImmunoAssay® (MFIA®) serologic test method can perform as many as 100 different assays in a single microplate well. This innovation decreases the amount of serum, reagents and disposables required for routine testing. It also allows for the incorporation of multiple proprietary internal controls to verify sample and system suitability–thereby increasing the accuracy of results.
In our new JoVE video titled “Multiplexed Fluorometric ImmunoAssay® (MFIA®) Testing Methodology and Troubleshooting”, we:
-
Review MFIA® reagent and sample preparation
-
Describe sample processing
-
Provide a representation of testing results
