New PRIA Return Kit Makes Quarantine Testing Even Easier
April 21, 2011 - With over 60 years of experience in laboratory animal medicine, we know that there are challenges associated with quarantine testing on research animals. Programs based solely on traditional dirty bedding sentinels require long quarantine times, often eight to twelve weeks to allow for transmission and seroconversion, which can delay research, reduce free space and increase per diem costs. Even when implemented properly, dirty bedding sentinels may not effectively detect some infections, such as Helicobacter and Pasturella pneumotropica. With PRIA, you can reduce the stresses of traditional quarantine: samples can be collected directly from principal animals, allowing us to detect active infections and you to know the animal health status within 3 weeks.
