New IVF Sperm Rederivation Option Introduced by Charles River

October 28, 2009 – At Charles River, we know that obtaining pathogen free animals in a timely and cost-effective manner is of critical importance to your research. To help meet this need, we have introduced a new sperm rederivation option that utilizes in vitro fertilization (IVF) and is faster and more cost-efficient than traditional embryo transfer rederivation.

Sperm rederivation eliminates the normally required process of naturally mating animals to collect embryos, and the IVF process produces more embryos per female. Combined, these advantages translate into time and money savings for you. As with our traditional embryo rederivation, you also have the Charles River guarantee of receiving at least ten rederived offspring, as well as any additional rederived progeny at no extra cost. In addition, the cryopreservation of any remaining sperm collected is included in the process, which provides a valuable backup to your colony in the event of contamination.

Our staff of dedicated project managers will work with you every step of the way, from answering questions about your rederivation options so you can make informed decisions to ensuring that your project goals are met in a timely and organized manner. Contact us today to learn how our attentive and comprehensive project support, competitive package pricing and highly trained and skilled embryologists who possess more than two decades of experience in rederivation techniques can help move your research forward.
