Our intensive weekly quality control program exceeds USDA Memo 800.65 and European Pharmacopoeia requirements. The production of SPF chicken eggs is achieved through the use of filtered air positive pressure (FAPP) poultry housing, critical biosecurity measures, and the careful selection of layer flocks. Validated biological assays are utilized to confirm the SPF status of every flock. A quality control sheet documenting this status accompanies each product shipment. This high degree of quality control and technical expertise is continued through product processing, packing, and shipping. Charles River maintains the quality assurance program that sets the industry standard.
We offer three grades of SPF chicken eggs:
- Research: Tested for 32 agents
- Premium Plus: Tested for all Research-grade agents except endogenous gs antigen
- Premium: Tested for all Research-grade agents except endogenous gs antigen and chicken anemia virus
