Discovery Services 

Biopharmaceutical Development & Production Week consists of nine conferences on topics ranging from antibody development and production to outsourcing manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals. This event gives researchers a chance to learn from a variety of industry experts, hear about new technologies and products, access over 100 speakers, and network with professionals from different disciplines. Staff scientists from Charles River Biopharmaceutical Services (BPS) and Preclinical Services (PCS) will be giving three presentations at two of the following conferences during the week-long meeting. We will also be exhibiting in Booth #109.

Charles River Discovery Services will be exhibiting at this event. We offer evaluation of test agents in models of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. We also perform diet-induced obesity studies, where conventional animals (rats or mice) are fed high-fat diets to induce weight gain, diabetes, high blood pressure, dyslipidemia and other obesity phenotypes. Our ability to combine standard physiological assays, histopathology, plasma biomarkers and imaging capabilities set Charles River apart as a premium provider for the assessment of agents intended to treat these metabolic disorders. Charles River will be hosting the 6th European Short Course on Laboratory Animals in Brussels on February 8-10, 2012. The Short Course is designed to educate and update the biomedical research community on current trends and technological advances in the field of laboratory animal science. Some of the topics to be covered during the 2012 European Short Course are the 3Rs and regulatory changes.
