At Charles River, our skilled embryology laboratory has the techniques and equipment to successfully recover frozen embryos or sperm in as little as ten weeks, regardless of where or when the line was cryopreserved. Advanced technology such as laser-assisted in vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) gives our laboratory the tools to recover virtually any frozen stock and gives you peace of mind that you can obtain live animals from your cryopreserved embryos or sperm exactly when you need them.

When you choose Charles River to recover your cryopreserved line(s), you gain access to our dedicated project management support. Our project managers can help guide you through the process and help you determine what size colony you want to have recovered based on what stock you have available as well as your unique research needs. Our standard goal for a recovery project is two breeding pairs; however, in many cases there is sufficient cryopreserved material to generate many more offspring through our rapid colony expansion program. All animals born from our cryorecovery program are guaranteed to have a VAF/Elite^® health status, allowing your newly recovered animals to be imported directly into most animal facilities with no need to quarantine.
