Through this agreement, Charles River serves as the exclusive, authorised commercial distributor and breeder of JAX™ Mice strains in the countries listed below.

Researchers in these countries can continue to order directly from The Jackson Laboratory. However, ordering JAX™ Mice through Charles River provides the benefits of a local customer service organization and of a local supply of some JAX™ Mice strains.
Charles River breeds JAX™ Mice in strict adherence to The Jackson Laboratory’s breeding protocols and genetic quality control guidelines. As a result, JAX™ Mice Strains from Charles River in Europe and Japan are equivalent in genetic quality to those bred by The Jackson Laboratory and not genetically drifted “J” substrains.
As a result of this collaborative agreement, Charles River’s European facilities are able to offer you dedicated supplies of certain JAX™ Mice strains that are typically only available as imported strains.
Importing JAX™ Mice Strains
Please contact us to request a JAX™ Mice order form. We are also pleased to assist customers with their search for a specific JAX™ Mice strain. Once you select a JAX™ Mice strain of interest, we can furnish you with an import price quotation and details of availability. Charles River will take charge of all importation steps. However, Charles River will not be responsible for any damages arising during the importation process while the mice are in the care of non-Charles River transport companies (e.g., airlines).
