March 6, 2008 Charles River Preclinical Services Announces Dates of 15th Annual Biotech Symposium Charles River Preclinical Services is pleased to announce that the 15th annual Biotech Symposium, entitled "Biotechnology-Derived Therapeutics: Perspectives in Nonclinical Development", will be held at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort in Incline Village, NV, September 8-10, 2008. This venue was such a hit last year that we’ve decided to treat ourselves again to the delights of this premier resort on the shores of Lake Tahoe. If you haven’t visited this region, early September is a prime time of year for this scenic locale. Our choice was made with all due respect to the travel impositions posed on our East Coast patrons, and we hope that you will tolerate the inconvenience once more and join us for a few days of great science and camaraderie at our unique forum. Consistent with our 14-year tradition, the Charles River Biotech Symposium will unite drug development professionals in an interactive setting designed to provide insights into preclinical drug development, regulatory issues, and innovative areas of interest. The Symposium will consist of 5 half-day sessions, 4 of which will feature presentations on the nonclinical development of specific products or topics of general interest, spanning a wide range of biopharmaceuticals including monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, cytokines, enzymes, oligonucleotides, polypeptides, and gene therapy. The nonclinical issues that arise present challenges for even the most experienced scientist and require creative strategies for resolution. Attendees will benefit from hearing the thoughtful perspectives and engaging in robust interactive discussions. One half-day session will focus on immunomodulatory biologics. The hugely popular case studies session will be held on the first afternoon. Given its focus on specific issues and effective strategies for problem solving, the Symposium has become known as a unique platform for scientific exchange and networking as well as education. The spirit of the meeting fosters extensive information sharing and lively debate and, hence, it is well supported by many thought leaders in the field of nonclinical biopharmaceutical development. Newcomers are typically impressed by the unique blend of basic science and its integration into novel applications for drug development. On Sunday, September 7, preceding the Biotech Symposium, we will feature a one-day educational program (title to be announced). Information on this program will be forthcoming, and the registration application and fee will be separate from that of the Biotechnology Symposium. Updates, program information, instructions for hotel procurement, and registration materials for the program will circulate as they become available. |
