Surgical Models

Charles River Laboratories has one of the largest resident colonies of large animals, including numerous chronic surgical models, ready for immediate use in order to offer the quickest initiation for all study types. The same surgeons who developed these sophisticated surgical procedures are available to assist in the creation of most any relevant model for an enhanced understanding of your drug, chemical, or device.

Surgical models are available in a range of small and large animals. Some of the models offered include:

• Vascular access ports
• Bile duct cannulation
• Enterohepatic recycling
• Portal vein / intestinal cannulation
• Carotid, jugular, and femoral cannulations
• Lymph, urine, cerebral spinal fluid
• Intraduodenal, intrajejunal, intraillial, and intracolonic
