Ultrastructural Pathology

Charles River maintains a fully-functional electron microscopy (EM) facility consisting of both scanning and transmission electron microscopes. Typical applications would include quantitative evaluations of myelin thickness in peripheral nerves, identifying the cause of cellular enlargement in the dorsal root ganglia or the cause of hepatocellular hyperplasia, determining the axis of degenerative lesions in renal tubules, and many others.
