Metabolism Studies

Charles River has over 30 years of experience performing metabolism studies to support the development of agrochemical compounds. Working with all common livestock species and all routes of administration, we routinely conduct studies to OECD 503 and US EPA 860.1300.

Standard species include:

  • Lactating cattle
  • Lactating goats
  • Pigs (including neonatal and minipigs)
  • Rodents
  • Poultry
  • Dose formulation, ranging from aquatic-based solutions to oil-based suspensions
  • Comprehensive, integrated profiling and identification of metabolites in excreta, milk, eggs and tissues
  • Chromatographic and isolation technologies (supported by Q-ToF and IT-ToF mass spectrometry)
  • Access to NMR for definitive metabolite identification
  • Metabolite reference standards for future structural confirmation provided by synthetic chemistry group
