Positron Emission Tomography (PET)

Positron emission tomography (PET) offers several applications in CNS and oncology research studies. PET allows for the analysis of brain activity in a variety of conditions. It also is increasingly used for monitoring increased metabolism in tumor cells. Furthermore, PET is an excellent tool for in vivo imaging of sugar consumption (FDG imaging).

PET imaging can be performed together with CT to add the precision of anatomic localization.
