Chronic pain treatment can be complicated because the causes vary greatly and therapeutics that effectively block acute pain sensations oftentimes have poor responses to long-term pain. Furthermore, many types of pain are still devoid of effective treatments.
Charles River conducts more than 200 studies annually at our Central Nervous System Center of Excellence, many of which are focused on the discovery of new therapeutics to manage pain.
