Severe Asthma Model

(Under Development)

This model will feature many similarities to human severe asthma, including the presence of both neutrophilic and eosinophilic lung inflammation, the release of inflammatory mediators and cytokines primarily associated with both Th1- and Th2-type inflammation and a relative steroid insensitivity. Total and differential cell counts of inflammatory cells in the lung will be performed on the bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid at various time points to observe the time course of inflammation and evaluate the effects of compounds.
