Model Characterization Services
During the preconditioning period,
phenotypic parameters can be measured and recorded on an “as needed”
basis.
Parameters
-
Body weights - taken weekly or at specified times during the
study
-
Clinical pathology and chemistry - full or partial panels of routine
blood chemistry values (i.e., glucose, insulin, triglycerides, cholesterol,
etc.) can be monitored throughout the study
-
Multi-analyte profiles - plasma biomarker analysis helps detect
early signs of disease revealed by blood markers associated with cancer,
infectious disease, autoimmunity, and cardiovascular risk
-
Food and water consumption - food and/or water consumption can be
measured over a prescribed period of time
-
Urine and fecal output - urine and fecal volumes can be collected
during 24-hour periods using metabolic cages
