This microrganism, a member of the phylum Proteobacteria was isolated from a potable water sample taken from Lake Michigan. Characterization was an international group effort and included 16S rRNA sequencing, multilocus sequence typing, RAPD strain typing, phenotypic characterization including chemotaxonomic characterization, DNA:DNA hybridization, and whole genome sequencing.
