Dr. Patrick is the Senior Scientific Director of Pathology and a member of the Senior Leadership Team for our Mattawan, Michigan site. He has extensive experience with the safety assessment of a wide variety of test articles, laboratory animal species, and study types. He promotes collaboration between pathologists, study scientists, and sponsors, and regularly provides problem solving and mediation. His special interests include scientific and regulatory policy, pathology peer review and pathology working groups (PWGs), and the adversity determination for histopathologic findings.
Dan received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Iowa State University, completed anatomic pathology residency training at Michigan State University, organizer for the American College of Toxicology (ACT) and Society of Toxicologic Pathology (STP) Pathology for Non-Pathologists biennal course, and is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) and the American Board of Toxicology (ABT). He’s also an adjunct professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University, has authored numerous pathology-related articles and textbook chapters, and is a reviewer for several pathology and toxicology journals.
His professional memberships include the STP, ACT, Society of Toxicology, American College of Veterinary Pathologists, European Society of Toxicologic Pathology, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
