James O’Neill is currently Associate Director, High Resolution Mass Spectrometry with Charles River’s Edinburgh site. He first started working with the high resolution mass spectrometry group in 2012, combining his interests in mass spectrometry and addressing analytical challenges with structural elucidation. James was then promoted to group manager and leads a team of 15 people working on all mass and structure elucidation activity at our Edinburgh site. He’s worked with several leading agrochemical and pharmaceutical companies on outsourcing their analytical needs to bring their products to market more quickly.
James has a PhD in chemistry and Master’s Degree in chemistry with pharmaceutical chemistry, both from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. He was once an intern with Charles River and also spent time with Dr. Ai-Lan Lee working on the chiral synthesis of supramolecular molecules and gold (III) catalysis.
