Jean-Guy Bienvenu, DVM, PhD

Scientific Director, Pathology

Jean-Guy Bienvenu is currently the Scientific Director of Pathology at our site in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where he manages the anatomic pathology department. He was previously a principal senior pathologist, performing the microscopic evaluation of tissues and preparing reports on findings for nonclinical safety studies. Dr. Bienvenu contributed to the local implementation of the anatomic pathology data capture system (Provantis) and helped standardize the corporate anatomic pathology glossary. Throughout his 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, he has worked for Pfizer, Sanofi-Aventis, and Citoxlab.

Dr. Bienvenu holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, PhD in biomedical sciences, and master’s degree in veterinary pathology – all from the University of Montreal. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and a member of the Society of Toxicologic Pathology (STP). Dr. Bienvenu is the author or co-author of several peer-reviewed scientific articles and has presented at international scientific meetings.
