Dr. Joanna Rybicka is a veterinary pathologist at AccelLab, a Charles River company. She obtained her B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biology and Pharmacology with a minor in Italian from McMaster University in 2007. She completed her PhD in Veterinary Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Calgary (UCVM) in 2012, during which she focused on elucidating redox regulation of phagosomal antigen processing in antigen presenting cells and authored several research papers in peer-reviewed journals relating to her research.
Dr. Rybicka subsequently earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at UCVM in 2016, becoming the first DVM/PhD graduate from UCVM. She was awarded the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Gold Medal, given annually for highest scholastic achievement to a student in the graduating DVM class.
Dr. Rybicka pursued residency training in veterinary anatomic pathology at the University of Saskatchewan, Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) and obtained a Master of Veterinary Science (M.Vet.Sc.) degree in 2019.
