Scott T. Wilson, BS, is the Associate Director of the Surgery and Efficacy Department and a Senior Research Scientist at Charles River, Mattawan. As the Associate Director, Mr. Wilson provides leadership and guidance for a group of talented Study Directors, is heavily involved in business development, model development and scientific advancements, and is responsible for the overall vision and direction of the Surgery and Efficacy Department. As a Senior Research Scientist, he is responsible for the overall planning and conduct of preclinical investigations, in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines and contemporary scientific practice and serves on several internal process improvement teams. Mr. Wilson has performed a broad range of GLP and non-GLP surgical and targeted drug delivery studies. His areas of expertise include interventional cardiology, cardiovascular device safety and efficacy testing, hemostatic materials testing, and internal medicine. He received his BS in 2001 from the College of Natural Science at Michigan State University, majoring in Physiology. Mr. Wilson has been involved with several publications, abstracts and/or poster presentations across a broad spectrum of specialties, including animal welfare, neurosurgery, cardiology, hemostasis assessments, and trauma treatment. He is an active member of the Society of Biomaterials.
