Tommaso Iannitti holds a degree in molecular and cell biology and a PhD in pharmacology. His expertise spans from neuroscience, specifically, pain, neurodegeneration and neuropsychiatry to gene therapy, inflammation, immunology, autoimmune disease and immuno-oncology. Throughout his doctoral and postdoctoral training,
Tommaso has led several multidisciplinary early discovery projects focusing on arthritis, obesity, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, inflammatory and neuropathic pain including oro-facial pain. He has also been involved in clinical studies, which have included biomarker analysis.
Following his postdoctoral training, at Charles River Laboratories, Tommaso and his team focus on PK and PD studies using pre-clinical models of inflammation, autoimmunity and immuno-oncology, and validate new models tailored to provide solutions to client requirements. He is the author of over 75 peer-reviewed publications and member of the editorial board of the Journal of Pain Research and Drug Development Research.
