William D. Barbo began his career at Charles River in 1982 as a research scientist and progressed through a number of product management positions of increasing responsibility during the years that followed. In 2006, Mr. Barbo was promoted to Corporate Vice President, Research Model Services, where he was responsible for the global research models services business. Since 2009, Mr. Barbo has played an integral role in the global sales organization as Corporate Vice President, Global Strategic Accounts and European Specialist Sales. In 2010, Mr. Barbo was promoted to Corporate Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing. In 2016, Mr. Barbo was promoted to Corporate Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. In this role, he leads our global sales and marketing organization, drives long-term strategic partnerships with clients, and plays a key role in ensuring that clients receive exceptional service and value from Charles River. Mr. Barbo is a member of the company’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Barbo holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Boston College, an M.S. degree in Cell Biology from the University of Massachusetts, and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University.
