Dr. Alessia Arduin joined the Structural Biology group at Charles River as senior scientist in November 2015. Since then, she has successfully applied her diverse skill set which includes cloning, protein expression/purification and crystallization on many therapeutic targets. More importantly, she has closely collaborated with Early Discovery scientists to achieve key goals such as understanding the Structure Activity Relationship of multiple targets and advancing the drug discovery process of client projects. Alessia graduated from Bologna University and focused on structural and functional studies on protein-protein and protein-lipid interactions since earning her PhD at Imperial College London. She has worked on target validation at the IRCC in Italy and studied membrane channels and co-transporters during her post.doc appointments in the groups of Prof. Andreas Engel at Basel University, Prof. Poul Nissen and Prof. Robert Fenton at Aarhus university.
